Horripilations provides this notice for Horripilations, the Android app with package name com.cingramwnz.horripilation. Its fifty included stories and built-in sound effects can be read and played offline. An account is not required.
The app has no advertising, analytics tracking or account system.
Your stories and settings
The app saves personal story copies, stories you write, your chosen on-air name, sound mappings, imported sounds, recordings and reading settings on your device. It does not automatically send these items to a server.
Your font size, interface language and the IDs of stories marked as discovered are stored on your device.
The on-air name identifies your saved writing and is included if you choose to send a submission. You do not need to use your legal name.
Microphone and audio files
The app asks for microphone permission when you choose to record a sound. Recording uses the microphone and saves the result in the app's private storage. Reading stories and playing the included sounds do not require microphone access. You can refuse or revoke the permission in Android settings.
If you import a sound, Android lets you choose a file. The app copies that file into its own storage so it can play it and associate it with words or phrases. The original file remains separate.
Sharing and submissions
When you choose to share a story, Android opens a chooser for an external app. The prepared text includes the title, story text and its attribution or chosen name. That app handles any transmission you decide to make.
When you choose to submit a personal story, the app prepares an email addressed to horripilationapp@gmail.com. It includes your chosen on-air name, story title and story text. You decide whether to send it through your email app. An email you send may also reveal your email address and other information you include.
If you choose the text-export option and it succeeds, a copy is placed in the device's Downloads folder. A sound-sharing action shares descriptive text about its name, file reference and assigned phrases; it does not automatically upload your recording.
Support and external links
The support link opens your email app for horripilationapp@gmail.com. We receive information you choose to send in a message that reaches that address. The website link opens horripilationapp.com in your browser.
Your chosen email, sharing and browser services operate under their own privacy notices. Android and Google Play also have their own information-handling practices. The app does not automatically upload stories, recordings or reading history.
Keeping and deleting local data
Saved local data remains on the device until you remove it. You can delete your personal stories and local sounds using the app's controls. Removing a phrase mapping alone may leave its audio file; use the file-deletion option when you also want to remove that local sound.
You can clear the app's storage or uninstall it through Android to remove its private saved data. This removes your personal writing, recordings and settings. Text files exported to Downloads, original audio files you imported and copies sent to other apps are separate; remove those copies using the relevant file manager or service.
The app's configuration disables Android cloud backup and excludes its data from Android's configured device-transfer rules.
Email correspondence
Messages you decide to send are handled by the email service and the recipient. Clearing or uninstalling the app cannot remove a message already sent.
We keep received support and story-submission emails only while they are needed to reply or review a submitted story. We delete these emails on request. To request deletion or ask a question about a message you sent, email horripilationapp@gmail.com.
Changes and contact
If the app's handling of information changes, this notice will be updated to describe that behavior. Privacy questions can be sent to horripilationapp@gmail.com.
